Cal Gamma Provides Greater Academic Opportunities For It's Brothers
Tuesday, June 05, 2007
Sigma Phi Epsilon has the highest Grade Point Average of all fraternities at UCSB. Yet, we can still do better. As a result, the Alumni Board is pleased to announce that Chris Albert has been retained to serve as a Resident Scholar for our chapter. Brother Albert graduated from our University of Connecticut chapter, and will be pursuing his PhD in Political Science at UCSB. As a Resident Scholar, brother Albert will live in the chapter house, and provide academic guidance and career counseling. It is the position of the Alumni Board that our role includes providing the strongest academic environment possible so that all of our undergraduate brothers have the greatest opportunity to succeed. The hiring of a Resident Scholar is but one step in furtherance of that goal. The Alumni Board will also be making improvements to the chapter house this summer to assist with academics, including the installation of study carrels in the library, and the installation of a Wi-Fi system to provide full internet access in the house. The focus on academics is a hallmark of our chapter which will continue to endure.
